Hey there, I’m Maria and thank you for having a look at my website.

Photography isn’t just a job for me—every time I pick up my camera, I feel alive, energised, and ready to capture moments that speak volumes.

My focus? Empowering women through the lens. Whether it’s through intimate portrait sessions, celebrating the beauty of dance, or helping women shine in their brand photography, my goal is simple: to capture your essence and empower you to see the beauty within yourself.

While my specialty lies in photography for women, I welcome clients of all genders. Because for me, photography is about capturing the unique spirit of every individual, regardless of gender.

When I’m behind the camera, I never seem to get tired. Instead, I’m fuelled by the opportunity to connect with you, to capture your story, your strength, your beauty.

I very much appreciated the creative decisions made by Maria during the shoot such as to head out into the fields, the natural lighting did wonders for my complexion in the images and along with the fresh air and smooth guidance she really helped me to relax in front of the camera. As well as finding beautiful uses for the items and accessories I had on me, I was very impressed by her skill in capturing the "awkward" angles which I'd generally not felt as confident with. Though initially uncertain, her own confidence during the shoot allowed me to relax further into these angles and let the magic that is Maria Akore happen~! I really feel that renewed sense of self I had embodied in those moments, captured beautifully in our final images! Each time I look at them they serve as a fresh reminder that - Who I am, is who I allow myself to be~

The older you get the more seeing photos of yourself can sometimes be a shock because you get used to looking in the mirror but not really seeing yourself. Having Maria as my photographer made be feel confident and that I could accept and acknowledge my best self. She listens to what you are looking for and helps create it through building trust. She suggests the most flattering angles and helps your personality shine through the pictures..... I can honestly say I walked away with a sprint in my step, feeling more confident and empowered. 100% recommend.

I am so in love with this photo because it truly captures the inquisitive nature of our little explorer. Maria is fantastic, she always takes the time to get to know what we want from each shoot and works quickly to get the best out of our child. Despite our daughter being challenging at times, Maria remains dedicated and focused on getting us excellent results whilst making it fun and engaging for us.
